Stonewall Unable to Endorse in Two Key Assembly Races

Candidates for Assembly Districts 5 and 9 pled their cases before a packed house of LGBT Democrats, but because the Stonewall Democratic Club rules require a 60 percent vote, no one was able to walk away with the Club’s coveted endorsement.

The Candidates Forum was held on Monday, March 8 and over 150 club members listened as Larry Miles and Dr. Richard Pan, candidates for the 5th Assembly District discussed their qualifications and answered questions from the audience.

Nominations Sought for Four Freedoms Awards

The Sacramento Stonewall Democratic Club, home to Sacramento's LGBT Democrats, are now accepting nominations for their Four Freedoms Awards.

The Four Freedom Awards is the clubs premiere fundraising event. Based on goals set down by Franklin D. Roosevelt, the Four Freedoms recognize the Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, Freedom from Want and Freedom from Fear.

Senators Introduce Repeal Of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"Senator Joe Lieberman

A coalition of United States Senators has introduced legislation to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and enhance our country’s military effectiveness.

The Military Readiness Enhancement Act of 2010 contains three main provisions: it will repeal the law that prevents gay Americans from openly serving in the military, prohibit discrimination against current and prospective service members on the basis of sexual orientation, and promote the ability of college students who wish to serve our country to join Reserve Officer Training Corps units at universities that currently prevent the establishment of ROTC units on campus.
