27th season of Sacramento’s premier outdoor ice rink to kick off the holiday tradition

The Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink returns Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, to St. Rose of Lima Park in the heart of downtown Sacramento. Open daily through Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, the Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink offers visitors an enhanced skating experience with rink improvements, extended operating hours and more exciting special events than ever before.

See Rocker Joan Jett On The Big Screen

If you’re a fan of the iconic rocker Joan Jett (and who isn’t?), you can take a “hump day” entertainment break this Wednesday (9/26/18) evening and see “Bad Reputation,” the acclaimed new documentary about her life and career.

The documentary takes viewers on a journey through Joan Jett’s world, from her early years as founder of The Runaways to her status as rock icon, and this special version of the film will come packaged with an exclusive, brand new solo performance by Joan made specifically for early screenings.

“The Wolves” At Cap Stage Has Bite

If you’re looking for an interesting play to see this weekend (or anytime before the end of September) check out Sarah DeLappe’s “The Wolves” at Sacramento’s Capital Stage.

The brisk, 90-minute, intermission-free drama is about young women who play soccer, and it stars nine talented actresses who had me convinced that a real-life female sports team had wandered in off the street to warm up and practice before their game.
