‘La La Land’ -- Bigger & Better in IMAX

by Chris Narloch

If you haven’t yet seen ‘La La Land,’ the frontrunner to win Best Picture at this year’s Oscars – or maybe you loved it so much that you want to watch it again – you can now enjoy the film on the largest movie screen in town, Sacramento’s Esquire IMAX Theatre on K Street.

The movie’s soundtrack recently reached #1 on the ITunes album chart, and the film has become a date-night phenomenon, bringing older moviegoers back to cinemas and introducing a whole new generation of younger folks to the joys of the big-screen movie musical.

This very original musical about two young dreamers who fall in love in Los Angeles explores the joy and pain of following your heart and stars the very talented and beautiful Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, who have genuine chemistry after costarring in several movies together.

Winner of 7 Golden Globes and nominated for a record-tying 14 Oscar nominations, ‘La La Land’ was a passion project for Damien Chazelle (‘Whiplash’), who wrote and directed the film.

Los Angeles has never looked lovelier than in ‘La La Land,’ and Linus Sandgren’s gorgeous cinematography should really pop on the enormous screen at the Esquire IMAX, where the movie is currently playing through Feb. 9.

If you want to impress your Valentine this year, beat the rush and take them to see this very romantic and beautiful film the week before Valentine’s Day.
