Steve Martin & Martin Short Bring The Funny To Golden 1

By Chris Narloch

For my money, the not-to-be-missed event in Northern California this week is the inspired pairing of Steve Martin and Martin Short, who bring their co-headlining tour to Golden 1 Center this Friday evening, June 29, 2018.

That tour, hilariously described as “An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life,” pairs two of America’s favorite funnymen, who have been friends – and often, costars—for decades.

In this special performance, Martin and Short recall their iconic careers, their creative influences and most memorable encounters, uniquely presented though a blend of stand-up, musical numbers and conversations about their lives in show business.

Martin Short is a Canadian-American actor, comedian, singer, and writer who got his start on television, with SCTV and SNL, before lighting up the big screen in a string of hit comedies, including “Three Amigos” and the “Father of the Bride” remakes.

Those three movies costarred Steve Martin, who also became famous on television initially, thanks to frequent appearances on The Tonight Show and SNL, before branching out in to movies, playwriting and playing the banjo in recent years.

Martin and Short will also be joined on the Golden 1 stage by the Grammy Award-winning bluegrass band The Steep Canyon Rangers and renowned jazz pianist and Jimmy Kimmel Live band member, Jeff Babko.
