Sacramento Rodeo Teams Does Well in FLAWild Wild Wes

Sacramento’s Rodeo Team made an impressive showing at Fort Lauderdale’s Sunshine Stampede as they hone their skills for the upcoming Sierra Stampede.

The Sacramento Rodeo Competition Team that made it to Fort Lauderdale for the April 17 rodeo consisted of Sammy V., Sacramento John, Jeff Barr and Wild Wild Wes. Sammy earned first place in Chute Dogging on Saturday with a time of 3.75 seconds. He also scored fifth in the Goat Dressing event on Saturday with his rodeo partner from North Carolina, Smurf.

In addition, Sac John caught his calf in Calf Roping on Foot on Sunday morning and came in sixth place. Jeff and Wes placed fifth in Steer Decorating on Saturday.

The next rodeo for the SCCGRA Rodeo team is the Oklahoma City Great Plains Rodeo, May 29-30. Following that, they will host the 10th Annual Sierra Stampede Rodeo, to be held here in Sacramento, June 12-13.
