A.C.T. On A Roll During It’s 50th Season

American Conservatory Theater premiered Moliere’s ‘Tartuffe’, its inaugural production in San Francisco, fifty years ago, and there has been no looking back since then.

There have been countless theatrical triumphs over those five decades, and many great actors have come out of the A.C.T. MFA program, including Denzel Washington, Annette Bening, Elizabeth Banks, and Danny Glover.

Granite Bay High Hosts Area Premiere of ‘The Unfortunates’

Local college and even high school productions can be a fun and inexpensive way to check out exciting new productions and talented, emerging young performers.

In that spirit, I urge you to see ‘The Unfortunates,’ an acclaimed new play having its amateur world premiere production – and its first Sacramento area production – next week, courtesy of Granite Bay High School.

The One and Only Alan Cumming Is Coming to Mondavi

Alan Cumming is a shape-shifting trickster, as enthralling and nimble with Shakespeare as he is with show tunes.

Star of stage (“Cabaret”), screen (“Burlesque”) and television (“The Good Wife”), the Scottish wild man will make a rare Northern California appearance this Friday, March 31st at the Mondavi Center in Davis.

“Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs” is an eclectic, wildly entertaining mix of intimate stories, from the sentimental to the sassy, and witty reinterpretations of pop songs and stage classics.
