The new Sacramento edition of Monopoly is here for hours of family fun. To say that that we, here at Outword Magazine, are beyond thrilled to be on the Chance square would be a total understatement! Check out all the details on page 20 and the pics of the reveal party on page 18. There are several places here in town where you can purchase your own copy, or you can order it online from Amazon or directly from the game company – also look for some that will be given away at Outword’s Happy Hour on December 9 at Badlands (which is also our annual Toy Drive for WEAVE). Again, all the details are inside this issue of Outword.
The first of December is World AIDS Day and Sacramento’s own Paul Curtis has written about what that means, and what will be happening on that special day. You can find this article on page four.
Livia Wolfe shares part two and three of her journey and “What Makes a Human Rights Activist?” You can check those articles starting on page 6.
This issue is also the first of two Holiday Shopping issues, so throughout the issue there are some great gift ideas for the early shopper. Everything from a Tina Turner Barbie doll to cool Christmas concerts, as well as a smattering of remastered, remixed and re-released CD sets are highlighted to help make shopping for the perfect gift, just a little easier.
The beginning of this year’s Holiday season has been marred by an act of terrorism towards our community in Colorado Springs, and our hearts go out to those victims and survivors. Let’s remember them and fight towards a day when we don’t have to contend with such senseless acts of hate. As a community we can achieve amazing things. Let’s stay strong and spread as much love as we are able. The whole world needs more of that, right now.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Hug your loved ones just a little tighter. Enjoy them – even if it’s not always easy to do.
Take care, and thanks for picking us up.
