Matteo Lane Comes to Sacramento

Oct 9, 2024

From Fortune Feimster and Tig Notaro to Wanda Sykes and Jerrod Carmichael, there are so many fab-u-lous queer comics these days, that it’s a challenge to keep up with them all. One of our favorite standup comedians is Matteo Lane, who is bringing his “Can’t Stop Talking” tour to Sacramento’s Crest Theatre this December.

With the world as crazy as it is, who doesn’t need some laughs? You can read an exclusive Outword interview with Matteo on page 19, but don’t delay if you want to see this handsome funnyman in person because tickets are going fast.

For more fun things to do this fall, check out Matt Burlingame’s Out & About column on page 20. You can read about a classic black-and-white film coming back to the big screen on that same page, and Julie Ebe’s calendar of upcoming events lands on page 22.

Chris Narloch has movie reviews for us in this Issue, and he also puts the spotlight on local theatre, two new art gallery shows, and a couple Halloween-themed events.

Our Wine Specialist, Diana Kienle, visits Relic Wine Cellars in Napa, on page 13, and shares her very positive review, and you will find more wine news on page 15.

We haven’t forgotten the news, and you can learn about hurricane relief, book banning, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and meet a CCAF Scholarship success story in these pages.

Let’s hope that 2024’s sweltering summer temperatures are behind us since fall is officially here, according to the calendar anyway. Stay safe, register to vote, and read Outword.
