The October 13 Issue of Outword is Out Now!

Oct 13, 2022

The days are getting shorter, the mornings are much brisker and refreshing. Soon the leaves will start turning colors and falling to the ground. It’s all very Autumnal. And we love it! Sacramento in the Fall is so beautiful, and there are so many things to do. As always, this spanking new issue of Outword will highlight some of those fun things. Take a look.

Just a short drive away, the Modern Family Expo will be at Pier 27 in the City by the Bay and you can read about that event on page 7. Here in town, don’t miss the CA Museum’s Annual Dia de los Muertos Fiesta happening this Friday. But also remember this Friday is Outword’s Happy Hour at Badlands… always a good time. So, do both. Heck, if you have it in you, do those events and then head over to see Randy Rainbow at the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center. Easy-breezy.

If you are not on a schedule, be sure to check out Diana Kienle’s tale about her visit to the Hourglass Winery. You’ll find that on page 12. And on page 16 Matt Burlingame tells all about various happenings in town in a feature we call “Out & About with Matt Burlingame.”

Our Arts Editor has recovered fully from our previous Arts and Entertainment Issue and has provided a plethora of things to do and see: A couple of movies directed by awesome women that both topped the box office, a shout out to the Symphony and the Sacramento Women’s Chorus, some Broadway shows (in SF) and other great tidbits, including a nod to Jon Stewart’s show, “The Problem with Jon Stewart,” returning to Apple’s TV+.

If all that does not convince you to check out this issue, then please consider it your civic duty to check it out, if only for page 18. Political experts, the Stonewall Democrats of Greater Sacramento, have laid out their recommendations for the upcoming midterm election. This is not an election to sit out, and while there are a lot of things on the ballot, page 18 will help make deciding what to choose, just a little bit easier.

(Soap box kicked aside)

So, we have said it before, and will no doubt say it many times again. Go get yourself a paper version of the new Outword, or check it out, for free, on ISSUU, or click through and get a free PDF version of the paper. We think you’ll be glad you did.

Take care and enjoy the beautiful Autumnal days!
