Our Annual Travel Issue is Out Now!
It has been said that there are few things in life as valuable as traveling to new places and experiencing new things. We here at Outword are lucky enough to have not only our own experiences but those of our friends, family and even readers and business partners’ that we can help share. This special, annual “Traveling” issue is a testament and a celebration of the beauty, charm and culture available in the world around us. Both far and near.
Our cover features a beautiful, but haunting, photograph taken by Mark Hinte in and around the Mount Tamalpias area, right here in Northern California. His story and photos have been reprinted thanks to the kind permission of Outword California. Check out what his has say on page 11.
Elsewhere in this issue we have stories about new flight service out of our own international airport, catching a train in India, “Otherworldly Antarctica” and living your dreams through travel. But, that’s not all.
Of course we have packaged more than just travel stuff in this issue. We have some “Queer Eye” news, Cirque returns to Sacramento, a fine winery in Healdsburg, Northern CA and even eight places to go for those that like to pack up a trailer and get away from it all.
And what would an issue of Outword be without great things to do and see right here in beautiful Sacramento? Chris Narloch tells us about “Artsy Movies,” some impressive local theater and the blockbuster hit movie, “Captain Marvel.” Let’s not forget “Out and About with Matt” that brings us into sync with what’s happening in our LGBT local scene – page 24. Just before the last page of the magazine, we scrambled to bring you pictures of this year’s LGBT Wedding Expo that happened on March 10. It was a super fun event! Thank you to everyone that helped make it happen, and to those that came by to take a look, talk, listen, sample and the like.
Now that the rain has let up, we hope you will get out and enjoy some sunshine, and pick up an Outword to read through at that coffee shop or café. As always, we thank you for reading and supporting, not just Outword, but the whole Sacramento LGBT community. See you in two weeks!
