For my money, the not-to-be-missed event in Northern California this week is the inspired pairing of Steve Martin and Martin Short, who bring their co-headlining tour to Golden 1 Center this Friday evening, June 29, 2018.

That tour, hilariously described as “An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life,” pairs two of America’s favorite funnymen, who have been friends – and often, costars—for decades.

What’s New In Movie Theaters?

After the surprise success of the recent, female-driven “Book Club,” it’s nice to see another “chick flick” succeed at the box office, with the $40+ million dollar opening weekend for “Ocean’s 8.”

After you see those two entertaining movies, I have several smaller titles I can recommend that deserve to be seen on the big screen before they vanish from theaters.

Experience “Symphonic Serenity” This Friday Evening

Who isn’t stressed out by the end of the work week? This Friday, you can actually do something about it when a revolutionary new experience known as Symphonic Serenity comes to Sacramento for the first time.

Symphonic Serenity is an experiential project that combines the restorative effects of both music and silence. Guided by five-time ASCAP Award-winning conductor Eugene Castillo, and assisted by Sacramento-based cellist Susan Lamb Cook, audience members are invited to listen deeply to short excerpts of music followed by silence, repeating the process for approximately an hour and a half.
